Last year we arranged a special (and very successful) Christmas concert performed by Joglaresa. This year we’ll have another Christmas event, this time featuring a delightful group called The Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments with a programme called The Ministry of Angels

They explore music associated with angels – maverick and fallen as well as divine and perfect.  They celebrate these heavenly and occasionally diabolical beings with traditional tunes, dances, songs and carols, playing strange and ethereal sounding instruments, many of which appear in depictions of angels through the ages.

This is what some audience members said: “I was absolutely blown away, it was totally delicious”. “It was the best concert I’ve been to in ages. Absolutely magic”

The group play a magical array of instruments and their joyous repertoire includes folk songs and earthy dances, high art music from the 18th century or earlier, and newly composed pieces.

Come and enjoy fabulous angelic music – and delicious mince pies with mulled wine.  You can book tickets now or later – but don’t wait too long, last year was a sell-out.
