Celebrate Yuletide in early music style!  Last year’s Joglaresa concert went down so well that we’ve invited them back with a brand new Christmas programme, Merriment & Misrule.

“Get in festive mood with these brilliant musicians, whose infectious enthusiasm and peerless skill will leave you wanting to dance and sing all the way home!” (Spitalfields Festival)

Amongst medieval, Tudor and folk carols Joglaresa perform:

  • medieval parodies celebrating wine and ale – Vinum bonum and Bring Us in Good Ale;
  • songs from the C16th Piae CantionesAngelus emittitur and Personent hodie; and
  • their very own version of The Boar's Head Carol.

"Joglaresa's imaginative use of improvisation creates an exciting air of authenticity ... compulsive rhythmic energy ... luxuriantly ornamental solos" (Telegraph)

 "Sound scholarship, a combined experience of many musical cultures, and a spirited delivery of stories" (Early Music Today)

Fabulous music – and mince pies with mulled wine.  Book tickets now or later – but don’t wait too long, our Christmas shows sell out quickly.
